Drents Museum
Logo details
A major renovation and the construction of the new exhibition wing led to the development of a new corporate identity that suits the complete metamorphosis of the Drents Museum in The Netherlands.
With the starting points ‘Drenthe as foundation” and ‘variable exhibitions’, we developed a logo that consists of two elements: a fixed shaped ‘Drents’ in black, and a variable shaped ‘Museum’. The four colors of the logo refer to the sections of the museum: Archaeology, Art 1885-1935, Contemporary Realism and History. The variable section in the basiclogo has a spelling one should discover: the four letters M, U, S and E together, read in the correct order, configure the word ‘ MUSEUM ‘. This refers to the vision of the museum that during a visit one should discover a museum and it’s exhibition or collection. The logo has been translated into a communication format in which the letters MUSEUM are playing a main role. With this we refer to the mission of the Drents Museum: giving the world a glance on the history of Drenthe and giving the people of Drenthe a glance on the world. The word MUSEUM is functioning like a window through which the collection of the museum can be seen.
