Johnny's Navajo Hogan
Logo details
My client recently reopened an old, historic restaurant and wanted an updated look for the logo. The old logo had a very dated looking Navajo Indian, see below, and was not very appealing. I illustrated the new Indian, and he now has a prouder look and the font has just a slight western feel.
Built in 1935, the Navajo Hogan "roadhouse" was placed on the National Register of Historic Places by the United States Department of the Interior in 1990. Because of this, the original logo on the building is still in place, it just had a "face lift" with new paint. The inside of the restaurant is an actual Hogan, with two large domes constructed without a single nail!
The logo is currently being used on t-shirts that the servers wear, and a new menu is in the works.
