Plancast

Plancast is a service for sharing your upcoming plans with friends. As Penguins follow each other everywhere, it was determined that a penguin would be a great mascot for the site. The whole idea of Plancast is that you follow your friends and join up with their plans. Just like happy penguins. Also, the obvious parallels with Twitter allowed a little fun to be injected into the logo -- since Twitter has a bird logo, Plancast wanted to have a heavier bird as their mark because they consider their user's broadcast to be "weightier" than your average tweet.
