Positiva Gruppen Mitt

Background
Positiva Gruppen Mitt is a new organization in the province of Dalarna in Sweden. It is active in four main areas:

• Spreading knowledge about HIV
• Creating a community for HIV positive people
• Working for the rights of people living with HIV
• Preventing HIV from spreading

Mission
To create a logo for Positiva Gruppen Mitt that communicates that they work with HIV in the Swedish province of Dalarna.

Solution
Working with HIV is a matter of life and death and that was something we used as a foundation for the development of the logo. Therefore, we decided to work in a tone of voice that was insightful, thoughtful, simple, and straight forward. But in all of the seriousness there was also a need for optimism and joy – because there is progress in the field of HIV– and that also became an important part of the expression.

The logo consists of four silhouettes of the so called Dala horse – a characteristic symbol for the province of Dalarna. Together they create a plus sign in the center of the logo. Each horse represents one of their main areas. The design is simple, clean, straightforward and conveys a feeling of optimistism.
