Cento Anni Radio & Design
the logo was conceived on the occasion of the centenary celebration of the invention of radio by Guglielmo Marconi
for this occasion, a pierced octopus wanted to conceive a sign that would give the idea of invention, of planning, of new technology that, thanks to marconi, would have revolutionized the entire system of planetary communication
the sign of the radio, which is inspired by a vintage model, deliberately not well identified, is made in pencil on rough paper, and then scanned (p scanned, as ducceschi states) to obtain a vector file no longer bitmap
the radio device is only half-depicted and shaded. this is because the invention of radio is not limited to a technological discovery but presupposes an enormous evolution in many other fields in which the work of Marconi was used
so the radio is sketched, but on the right side (apparently missing) it is actually very present thanks to its optical weight that balances the left sign
raffaello ducceschi took the piqued sign and completed it with a lettering designed for the occasion
in fact ducceschi, as well as product and graphic designer, is an expert calligrapher and designer of computer fonts
this was one of the many occasions in which the happy collaboration between ducceschi and piqued has materialized
