OUR STORY!
Our dressing is a family recipe originated by our aunt, whom we affectionately call Mama Tang. This family business was started after Hurricane Ike because we needed to bring back a sense of hope into our lives. Seemingly overnight, our normal life disappeared as Ike left a trail of destruction all around us. For two weeks, five families took shelter at the only house that had electricity. Lacking a normal routine, all we had to look forward to each day was Mama Tang's cooking. When she served us her signature dressing, we were reminded of its deliciousness and joked about selling it. What started out as a joke evolved into serious discussions among us four siblings. We decided to pursue it, and so the journey began. We immediately put our focus into researching on how to bring it to market because we simply wanted to share this unique dressing with everyone. It's been a long journey considering the hurricane happened in September of 2008. Granted, there have been countless moments of joy and disappointment. But it has been, and still is, an exhilarating experience nonetheless. We took our time to make sure the dressing stayed true to its roots and only went into production when Mama Tang gave us her blessings.
