The company's history begins in the 1990 with a small enterprise called “Quarta”, started by several people from the staff of the prestigious Engineering Physics Institute, a.k.a. National Research Nuclear University (MEPhI) in Moscow, Russia. Patent trademarks “Quarta” and “RADEX” followed. Today, QuartaRad®, based in the U.S.A., is a manufacturer and world-wide distributor of radioactivity detection equipment and air quality measurement instruments.
