Equal Pay Day
The logo was developed in occasion of Germany's first "Equal Pay Day". In Germany, professional women earn - generally - 21% less than their male colleagues. The logo works visually like a calculation so it visually communicates the pay gap between men and women in Germany, indicated by the word day (set in black typography and numerical). Counting all facts together, women pay a high price for reaching equality, unless they get active. For this reason the word "pay" however is written in red. This indicates that women should get out of the red and should start negotiating for better salaries and working conditions according to their abilities. The logo was developed for BPW Germany (Business and Professional Women Club) supported by the German family minister Ms. Von der Leyen and was launched simultaneously with the website www.equalpayday.de
