Approachable Consultancy

The goal for this logo design was to create a simply, clean logo, with just a little bit of character.
It was important to the client to show some 'old school' business experience in it but we needed to balance that with the feeling of approachability - These guys are professional & know their 'stuff', but they're not 'stuffy'.
As best business practices are part of their service, I made sure that we followed our best practices and fitted nicely into their projected print budgets by keep the design a 2 colour job.
The choice of colours was also important - Black: formal and a best option for 2 colour printing (for all that business text). Blue: building trust and exuding wisdom - both important when it comes to letting someone into your deepest business secrets.
Also the little touch of the (ac) mark, playing on a (TM) or (R) mark - it's about 'protecting against business risk' instead of 'protecting your brandmark'.
