Brief from client
Logo for local pool hall
Logo idea for popular local billiards establishment
Hard to know what to say without knowing the target audience. But, most pool halls are adult places... this doesn't work for that.
Way to much letter sharing going on... comes off as cheesy.
Why the blue dot on the "i"?
If you simplify it some it would work. but, it depends on the atmosphere of the place. If it's a family oriented "Chucky Cheese" type joint you are on the right track. Otherwise- back to the drawing board.
There are other elements you could work with that come to mind that would be more interesting graphically, like the diamond shaped 9 ball rack.
"Ride the Nine". That's a very difficult business name to work with.
Good thing you include a ball with the number 9 so people know it's about a billiard.
I like the idea of making this modern-looking and nice colors and all but the implementation of the idea just doesn't look right in many aspects.
To start, that blue dot has nothing to do there. The extra large "I" and "E" make a lot of noise. The "9" in the ball looks flat, like it's not printed in the curved ball.

the blue dot is supposed to be the chalk from a pool cue...
