Bubble Cafe
Juan Da Costa | Wed, 01/25/2012 - 07:25
Brief from client
Local Miami Tea Shop. Mostly famous for their Bubble Tea.
bad typo and proportions.."bubble" is too big respect its definition.
also i suggest you find some colors more appropriate, i dont desire coffee by it..tea maybe. for the bubble its like "Luenib" said.
The colors are to in your face for a coffee shop, they dont not make you feel calm & collected but they do make you feel anxious. Coffee shops typically want you to stay and relax in the store, so they usually have more neutral colors.
the extra ridiculous serif on the G needs to go & that whole tag line needs to be larger. As for the Bubble font I dont think that is working at all.
Your orange I guess bubbles are not working either
The circle elements in the glass are good, but the size interaction between them is strange. Have you tried type treatments that involve different cases? Maybe a capital 'u' with the others in lowercase?
If the color scheme matches the atmosphere of the place, keep it. But don't settle on colors that are "in your face" if a better harmony can be achieved with something less bright.
Something is bubbling in that eprouvette but it ain't tea or coffee.
It looks more like some acid at the bottom.
I don't think I would take my coffee there.

That loop in the "g" is just too much. The tagline is perhaps too small.
I understand bubbles float, so it would be better to see those bubbles on top of the glass. Some bubbles that don't look like a paw.
I'm sure some earthy colors would improve the look of this design.

I guess nobody's had bubble tea.

Maybe you could use the bubbles in a different way?
This isn't perfect... but it's an idea.
What's this font? it looks great.
By the way, there's a comment here that explains the little dots on the bottom of the glass. I think it's tapioca.
