Brief from client
Rebrand our 10th annual culinary cookoff. Include tagline: "Experience Cache Valley's Premier Culinary Event," as well as culinary symbolism. Keep logo fairly simple, yet classy.
Spice on Ice is our annual culinary competition with all of the top chefs around Cache Valley. It is our tenth anniversary of this event, and we decided it was time we revamped the brand (prior to this, it was all done with Jokerman font....gross, right?)
With this new identity, we tried to create something that represents the class and sophistication that the event entails. We tried to keep it simple and elegant, while incorporating different culinary elements (ie fork and steam.)
This is the finished product, accompanied by several of the tickets to the event

I wouldn't change a thing.
It's not exactly "simple" as the brief suggested. I don't think just adding a fork makes it all that "culinary". It's a shame that you couldn't do more with the word "ICE" as a reflection from the "ICE" in "SPICE". The "S" shape is nice, simple and contemporary, but doesn't go anywhere or create anything with the rest of the type or imagery. If this is a logo to be used annually, I think it needs to be more unique.
Yeah, personally I hate the fork, but they insisted upon having a fork in it. Appreciate the crit
I like the fork! Now... about the all concept... I like it, but I think that you can do something better "playing" with the combination of spice with ice. thats just a suggestion. anyway, good joob!
I don't eat ice with a fork - and its size is out of proportion - I would just take it out. The rest is very good.
