Brief from client
This logo was created by Art Director David Dace for JK2 Apparel who he is employed by. David is an accomplished comic illustrator as well and is involved in many projects including work for Heavy Metal magazine and movie storyboarding. He resides in Las Vegas, Nevada

*whispering* Why are you uploading someone else's logo!? I can only assume this means that you have no control over changing it!? What gives?
I would tell David to stick with comic illustrations as I don't think logo's are his thing. If your designing for apparel the fundamental element is the logo should be able to be produced on clothing, which this design would not work.
Reminds me of the Mass Effect Logo, but I don't feel like it's as strong. The JK is going to be hard to read on the black grunge background, it's also a bit strange that the JK is so small in comparison with the 2 I think. I just can't really see a concept in this, perhaps a more elaborate briefing about what the company wanted would explain some of these issues. I don't mind most of the logos elements though, they just don't feel cohesive.
