Brief from client
It's a logo from a friend of mine, so there basically no briefing, he just wanted a logo for his comic book store. That's my first time making a logo, so, DON'T go easy on me.

Hmmmmm I dont know what, but for me something is not working. I like the COMIC and the colors... why dont you try diferents compositions?
You should add an exclamation mark, no wait.....
in fact that should be the only thing you should be using here. Imagine, just an exclamation mark in the red comicy font over that speech bubble. Have it so the exclamation mark pops out of the speech bubble. Heck use three exclamation marks!
!!!
Or you can work with a torn page of some sort since its a "comic strip". Some ideas for you.
Offtopic; Why do you want to be cliche?? That's never good of an idea for a logo design :/
Yeah, I like the "Comic" part, but then the "strip" leaves me feeling kinda 'eh'. Play around with other iconic comic images, etc and see what you come up with! ANd personally, I think the idea of an orange sign on a blue building is fantastic. Orange and blue go together nicely!
I think one nice big redish ! coming out of the speech bubble would be dope! and more KA-POW! ;)
Great work for your first time!
Yup. As many said here there is something off. The speech bubble is underneath the COMIC font. Speech is almost never backwards in comics... Either way, for a first go it's awesome. You should see some people with experience screw up sometimes... (*Looks in a mirror*) :))) rofl. Try to fix it.
I like it.
