Logo details
Based in Paris, Toit Potager researches, designs and builds rooftop vegetable gardens. The company is at the leading edge of sustainable rooftop farming, with a substrat technology developed in partnership with AgroParisTech, one of the world's leading agronomy graduate school.
Creative choices - Centabel seemed the right font choice, with the top curve of he G and the leg of the R echoing vegetable forms, and the T and A, the shape of traditional gardening tools, while overall keeping a very clean look. The tomato is the perfect symbol for the urban farming movement: growing food at a walking distance from where it's consumed allows for heirloom varieties - which the tomato has so many - that most people haven't tasted since we begun to ship food from thousands of miles away.
At Toit Potager, science is used to study and mimic Nature. The substrats developed are made from local waste, such as organic waste from the restaurants and households, and mulch from tree trimming. They incorporate a combination of fungi and worms to create a fertile ground as close as possible to what nature intended. This is a important differentiator from the companies that use science to modify the plants genes or inundate ecosystems with herbicides and pesticides. For that reason, any laboratory references were excluded from the logo.
