GO
Logo details
I was contacted by a local Pastor named Don Lott here in Tampa, FL, to design a logo for a "campaign" or movement he wanted. He said he wanted it to be specifically NOT church-y, something catchy and cool that could appeal to all ages, but that he could use on everything from T-shirts to letterhead. He explained that it was based on Matthew 28:19 - which implores people to go and teach others the word. He explained that the idea is for everybody in his ministry to get one other person, and help them in some way, or bring them back to their spirituality - and he wanted everybody to have business cards that they could sign their name to, and hand out to others as an invitation to their church. As he spoke, I immediately came up with the "GO Card". I thought it was great that the acronym for "get one" spells go, (Go Get One) and I thought this design was just edgy enough that you wouldn't expect it to be a chuch, and hip enough to attract a younger crowd. The logo is on one side of the card, with Matthew 29:18 on the other side, which happens to also start with the word "Go" The QR code, when scanned with a smart phone, actually navigates people to his church. Pastor Lott loved the whole concept immediately! And as you know, that's the best feeling for an artist! It's also one of my personal favorites in my portfolio.
