Brief from client
Am in sixth form doing an A Level Graphic Design course, so this is kinda the beginning of my logo design. Design brief is "The firm 'Next Generation Fitness' are launching a brand new chain of modern fitness centres. Create an effective logo that portrays the companys modern clean image".

Are those the clients colors? Or are they a complete blank canvas?
I like play on the tennis ball, but would remove the outline. I don't think its needed.
Why is the "N" like that? I like "fitness" good font choice.
No, i am creating the brand from scratch.
Ok, i'll try that with the ball.
The 'N' is something i have created as something iconic to the brand. It signifies tracks, as a pathway to fitness. Do you think it doesnt work? please feel free to say.
Thanks.
You have two symbols, the stylized N and the tennis ball guy. Try picking just one. :)
ok, so you think scrap the n?
It is a fitness center not a Tennis center, right?
As mentioned before you have 2 ideas in there. You need to focus on one.
TRue. The circle could signify a globe shape, with the simplistic person jumping in front of it. Or i could take the circle out and just have the person icon. ??
you need to decide which one to keep (the circle and character) or (the Stylised N). If you are keeping the circle, I would suggest you try a lot of different options for that, with and without the globe.
I think the colors are ok, just try to explore some other shades of this green.
I am not a fan of the symbol, or the colors. It seems generic, and quite feminine in design (it feels like a women's fitness club?). The neon green color also feels feminine...and the who thing strikes me as a bit dated/retro - not "new"...like it would have been futuristic back in 1980, you know (the original "Tron" movie comes to mind).
Sorry...but I'd try to come up with a different overall concept.
For what it's worth, the "N" seems to be the most interesting piece of design in there.
yes, that is helpful. i need to learn all this so thanks.
ok, i will work on it further! :-)
what colours do everyone reckon. dont want red as is quite intimidating. im just a beginner so appreciate your help.
thanks :-)
Try to implement the G with N in the same shape and get rid of that globe. Also make it smaller or at least same size with the main font. And I would try a dark red, idk.
ok, thanks. I will have a few attempts at doing that, though im not quite sure how at the moment.
:-)
