Brief from client
Logo for the our company.
Looking to change our logo. Thinking that the solid square as well as the font represent the sturdiness of the signs we make, simple but effective.
i wouldn't really call this a logo, just some text on three lines in a box.. i quite like the studyness of the font u have used though. but yea the whole thing doesnt have much of an idea to it and needs a lot more work to become a logo
If you're going to make something this simple, it has to be beautifully proportioned with no awkward spaces etc...
However, I think the S's at the start will always make this logo look a bit unbalanced, unless you do something clever.
It's simple, but it's also not very memorable. I think a small tweak to the text or some kind of device that hints at what you do would be a nice addition.
As a signmaker, your own sign is your chance to demonstrate to potential customers the level of craftsmanship they can expect, the skill of the designer, and the power effective signage has to attract attention and incoming business.
I don't think this design does that for you. It seems vanilla and plain, with its use of only one color and the Gotham font which is EVERYWHERE these days. Even the business name seems somewhat generic. You want to be unforgettable, not homogenized and invisible.
I'm all for simple and minimal graphic design, but I really think that a sign company should pull out all the stops, and show 'em how it's done.

Good luck!

Push yourself and see what happens.
Problem is, simple logos are the most difficult to create. So much elements to consider so it doesn't look like you just typed the font in.
