logo for a industrial designer alternative idea's

Brief from client

the alternative idea's for my logo as an industrial designer 1st year student

kinda stole cubby's idea... added a kind of brushed metal effect, not sure if it displays quite right. the logo works without anyway. really appreciated the idea, and i'm still working on more

And I'm glad you stole it! I'd definitely lose the brushed metal effect, though. Almost every “effect” is best left out of logos. I sent the Illustrator file I was using to your Outlook email address, in case you want it.

What cubby says, lose the effect. Try not to use effects like that, they don't work well with logos.
I like the idea of the M and the W, but I can't see it like that. It more looks like a toothbrush-icon at the moment. Try some other shapes/typography maybe?
The colors can also use an update, not the most interesting and happy.. they don't give a good feel, imo.

yeah, i kinda see what you mean...looks like a bad commercial for a toothpaste company. about the colors, i kept them out at the moment because i wasn't sure about the font and how it looked, I tried making a more rounded font and use that but it wouldn't work for me. the original idea was making the logo green and blue

That's a good point. I'll stop. :) Have at it, Matthew!
