Brief from client
The logo contains the letters D and R. Those are initials of name. I want feedback on this design. I want to keep it simple but effective and minimalist. Any feedback's and ideas appreciated. Thanks
First thing that comes to mind when i see your symbol; Tetris. I don't see a R and a D without your explanation. Although i do like your idea and what you want with this. It's just that your execution isn't nearly there yet.
Your typography isn't working at all. You also have 2 different symbols now with the D and the R implemented in the Tetris blocks. Don't.
Wow, I should really pay better attention when I read the client brief part: I thought the symbol had a J and R. I didn't really see any D in there. Once you said it was DR, it kinda makes sense, but that would defeat the purpose of the logo, wouldn't it?
So yeah, everyone would read JR. I know that a symbol shouldn't really spell out anything more than it should give an impression, but this is a problem for me.

Really cool symbol. All the rest sucks.
This is neither simple not minimalistic. The word mark is way too complicated and messy.
Keep it simple. For real, this time. Get rid of all the superfluous elements, remove the bars around the symbol, pick a simple unaltered font.

I'd say back to the drawing board.
