SOMMAT Development
Brief from client
This logo is for a software development company. They want to incorporate a turtle, so I created the symbol using common scripting characters [] (). "Sommat" is actually slang for "Something Like That." The company is being started by a 27 year old who is pretty laid back.
We're having a bit of trouble deciding on the fonts for the title and the subtext that jive well together.
Any thoughts are appreciated! Thanks guys :)
This is the final coloring and fonts the client decided on; took KillSwitch's advice and made the stroke of the inner part of the turtle shell thicker to match the exterior more closely.
Also switched the color of the inner shell to white, to match the subtext on the logo.
Thank you for the advice! Any further thoughts or opinions are welcomed!

I think this isn't too bad. I like the symbol, it's memorable.
I don't think you need the brackets. It's a bit gimmicky.
I would loosen up the composition a bit. All the elements seem a bit too cramped for my taste.
Keep it up! =)
I dont care for the brackets, but if you use them, dont have the top of them line up with the "D", everything should line up to the center of the brackets.
I would stick to a single font instead of the two, and maybe try something with thinner lines. Not everything has to be bold for it to be important.
Try SOMMAT in all caps, and below it 'development & consultation" in small characters.
good luck
Tweak the SOMMAT so that the turtle's lower bracket lines up in between the Ms. It looks a little off centre (even though it isn't) because of this.
Otherwise, I really like this logo.
