Wasn't sure if this was a dog with floppy ears or a sock puppet until I saw the title of it.

I actually quite like it.. especially considering that it wasn't done in illustrator.

Maybe give the eye more of a snake's pupil for some real crossing over of the two ideas.

I would also like to see some typography. It desperately needs type / anchoring meaning.

Keep it up, this is one of your stronger works ;)

You might want to consider making a full snake that sort of wraps around the entire logo in a circle. It would certainly remove the 'possibly puppet' aspect of this and solidify it as a snake. :)

Waffles, I have noticed that you like jokes... Here is one for you from my collection: doctor telling a patient that he's got two different types of testicles; one is made out of wood and the other is made out of metal. Patient is sadden... After a brief silence - doctor asked if he has any children on what patient said that his youngest boy Pinocchio is four and the oldest Terminator is seven.

"And my daughter, The China Girl, just graduated from kindergarten!"

The doctor paused, deep in thought, "Congratulations on having such a loving family!"

Thank you both, Jon Askill and Waffles, for your constructive critique. I will take all of your suggestions and will continue to polish this logo. It is not done by any means - only a first stage. More work ahead of me. I want to ask you both where to look to get myself Adobe Illustrator, so, I can start learning some ropes and get some basic skills?

Adobe.com. It's all subcsription based now, you can get Illustrator only for $20 a month or splurge for the full CS package. Dont bother looking for a pirate if you want to be a professional.

This is not bad indeed. But at least it's not was one these ubiquitous logos with a fucking aperture symbol. I agree with Waffles, you should a complete snake, just so your logo doesn't look cut off.

Now, your main problem is that you don't Illustrator yet. And the bigger problem is that you can use Paint for playing around, but you won't be able to produce any of your logos with it. What I mean is that you won't have a proper file to send to the printer if you want to make business cards or anything print.

Especially since Paint, on top of being devoided of any basic yet indispensable options, is pixel-based. You have no way to control the resolution. So you'll wind up having to redo all your logos when you get your version of Illustrator.

Check you mailbox.

what about gimp ? can you do stuff like that ?

apart of that it's really nicely done since it's made in paint bu im not sure what to think of it..it actually doesn't look like a logo...when you look at it you're like wait what is it? there's no information like a business name, shouldnot it have one?
