MadiDrop

The MadiDrop, named after a South African word for water, madi, is a porous ceramic material embedded with silver nanotechnology. It is simply placed in a household water storage container, and through the slow release of silver, it disinfects the water, making it safe to drink. The logo (or just the icon, if we go that direction) will be stamped onto the ceramic disks so it needs to be simple and still make sense in 1 color.
Went for a drop. I know it's expected and done before, but I felt the strong connection with the word "Drop" in the name would be more memorable in customer's minds if they had a drop image to go with it. The lines and dots inside represent either the porous texture material of the ceramic filter or the molecular make-up of the water changing as it's purified. Does this seem too boring? Expected? Overdone?

Sorry, but I don't feel a good enough symbol to what you're trying to present in a concept's description. Again, same as with that light bulb - too complex and very little visual identity at the end. Try to do more sketching. On a typography there are issues, as well. I read MadhTDrop for some reason with that negative space that you created after a d , plus I see a T before D, too.
The typography is alright. I read Madi Drop. And I like that ligature you created between the two words. It's pretty clever.
Now, that symbol doesn't really work. The idea of the drop is ok, but these things in it make me think of technology, computer stuff and circuitry, which has nothing to do with the matter at hand here.
Colorwise, this awfully dull and sterile. Spice it up a little =)
