For my own practice. This will be for an upscale and slightly funky steak house.

Here is a mock up to show how it could still appear high end even though the logo itself is kind of funky.
What is he doing with his arms? =)
Great job on the fonts, these two work really well together.
I love that blue, very Klein.
Now, the symbol needs some work. Sorry for the snarky comment above, but the absence of arms is the first thing that bugs me. The fact that the monkey turns his back on the viewer makes it look like his doing doing something weird. At least to me. Sorry, I'm félixing out =)
Also, make sure that the white space between the head and the ears is the same as the one between the body and the legs. The tail looks really weird, as if of a lizard. As someone who is no longer around would say, it's not anatomically accurate.
But, you managed to capture something. Keep up the good work!
You're right about the tail. I didn't catch that I had made it a point instead of rounded. I also fixed the space between the head and ears. As far as the arms go I was envisioning this to be a sitting monkey like these:

So I figured his arms would be sitting in front of him. I kind of liked the cold shoulder aspect to this. To me it added a bit of mystery and intrigue, not to mention it made his silhouette far more simplified.
Hmmmm im really not sure about this one..
I really don't like what you did to the Font for BLUE with those extra weird bits added on to the letters and your kerning isnt good either (too much of a gap between "L' & "U"
As for the symbol i can tell that its a monkey but the tail definitely needs to be looked at as it does look like a tail from a cameleon and not a monkey. I like the idea of it having its back to you though as it does add a bit of mystery and i dont think i have ever seen a logo where a monkey has had its back to the viewer.
My main problem with this logo is the composition, the text above the symbol doesn't work. I guess you have done it like that because the tail gets in the way but just as a general bit of aesthetics i think symbol above text always looks better. You might just need to play around with tons different poses for the monkey so that you can find a better solution to positioning him with some text.
Good Luck :)
