Raphael - Translater and Web designer

Brief from client

Hello, my name is Raphael.

My ideia here is simple... The eagle represents the vision, the objective, and the macaw represents the fidelity, so the main ideia is "fidelity translation". However I have here a metaphor of a good translation, then these birds represent the symbol of the countries, USA and Brasil. The symbol (red) mean the first letter of my name, and the green one mean the letter T (translation)...

Thank you.

I will work as a translator and designer at the same time.

Watch out, there's a typo in the subtext.

I would also capitalize Designer for consistency.

I like your wordmark here but I have a real problem with the birds. They seem to be drawn with two different styles. The details aren't approached the same. The gradients don't look bad here but make sure you have a plan for displays where only flat colors are available and one for one color environments.

This doesn't work for me, sorry. The "letters" in red and green is a bit of a stretch- I would never get R and T out of it on my own. The symbol looks like clip art with the red and green swooshes added to it- and I agree with above statement- they are drawn in two different styles (which is another reason I say clip art??)
The letter e that got his tail shut in the door =) - I don't think you need that element if you have a detailed logo mark, if your logo was the word mark only I might not mind it.
Lastly, the way the "Ra" in Raphael sits in this font with the tight tracking is a little bothersome. As in, the rounded "a" sits lower on the baseline than the R. However, this may just be bothersome to me.

Now, after all that negative- I will say that the amount of thought and logic you put into this and the idea itself are really not bad! I think the execution of the idea fell a little short, but with some tweaking could be really nice.

The symbols are clip art. I found the eagle on Shutterstock pretty much instantly.

You should never use clip art or purchased graphics in a logo you are creating. It is a bad idea.

As for the rest, I really kind of like the Typography. The little wibbly thing on the 'e' isn't working for me, but otherwise I like the fonts with some tweaking.

As for colours, red and green are complimentary, but they are also Christmas. It gives the impression of gift wrapped birds.

On top of what has been said already want to mention a few things. As an idea in general - this is good start. I thought at first that is some sort of exotic bird with a huge head, legs made of red/green combo and a black tail. Sorry, but your symbol at this stage is a mess and disconnected from a text.Even without two birds I can only read " SD " made out of the two ribbons. The two ribbons are screaming Italy with their colors. You need to find a better solution for birds part in your concept in order to accomplish a goal. I don't really like how all letters are cramped on a main text. Perhaps, by separating them and give more space to breath, would benefit more. Also, make " R " in " Raphael " in a lower case.
