I would not create a logo with imagery cut off like this. Needless to say this is not working for me. It's not so much the issue that it has been thought of before, but the shape of the body is poorly rendered, and as I already stated, is cut off at the waist/leg when it should logically still continue.
Her body around the waist line looks very crudely drawn (rough lines). And unless you are going to fill the negative space with some creative typography (i.e. info about the "event") I feel like the other leg should be there. It's a bit weird that her belly button is he most detailed thing about this!

Plus it's a pretty famous and common image done many times.
I didn't even know about this photo, done mine from scratch. Well, as it happened many times - people come up with similar ideas.

I could see this working well as a continuous line logo, maybe do away with the picture, too distracting.
