In the sake of the diverse and ancient geological structure, the diverse and attractive climate, and the special geographical situation, Greater Khorasan Province has been undoubtedly a groundwork for living, commerce, and military activities of human since ancient times. Due to this very special situation, the oldest, most famous and the longest communication path between east and west, that is, the Silk Road connects east to west through Khorasan.

The geographical diversity of Greater Khorasan along with its dry desert climate in the southern part and its mild mountainous climate in the north and scattered in the center, its considerable heights such as Binaloud, Hezar Masjed, Kopet Dag, Quhistan, etc., has been a suitable place for human residency since ancient times and has attracted different and numerous tribes from different eras. This is the place whose various regions is suitable for the growth of cold and warm weather plants such as wheat, rice, almond, apple, grape, pistachio, date, etc., such that this area is known as one of Iran’s grain warehouses.

Razavi Khorasan Province with an area of about 128.420 square kilometers, equivalent to 7.8 percent of the whole area of the country, consists of 19 counties, 62 districts, and 8,861 villages with a population of 4,777 thousand people.

Despite the division of Greater Khorasan to three sections of northern, southern and Razavi, indices indicate that Razavi Khorasan Province is still at a good economic status in the country.

Razavi Khorasan with 5,616 active industrial units and an investment of about 12 thousand billion Tomans and employment of 185 thousand people is ranked third in terms of employment following Tehran and Isfahan. It is ranked sixth in terms of investment. This province includes 7 percent of the units, 5 percent of country’s total investment, and 7 percent of the country’s industrial employment.

"Nan e Razavi" Company shines like a bright star in this broad province with great industrial backgrounds. It should be noted that effective and bold presence in a province, which is famous for producing food products throughout the country and the region, is very difficult and "Nan e Razavi" Company has well accomplished this important fact.

In about 1967, in a corner of Imam Reza Hospital, a baker was responsible for making breads for the personnel and patients of the hospital years ago. He was known among the elite and the ordinary people for making good breads in Mashhad, however, the number of breads he was baking would not suffice the hospital and other buyers. Therefore, the administrators of Astan Ghodse Razavi were persuaded to expand the production of this high-quality bread. Hence, they registered it in 1972 as "Nan e Razavi" Company and launched it near the hospital. The company’s products grabbed the attention of many at that time.

The complex continued its high-quality productions until the victory of glorious Islamic Revolution in 1978. Considering the changes in the country’s industry during those years, the company continued its production with the least capacity, while yet with the high-quality and customers’ satisfaction.

In 1982, four years after the Islamic Revolution, new changes occurred for the company and with the support of Superintendent of the Holy Shrine of Imam Reza, efforts of the company managers and staff, help of the authorities of the province, and considerable investments, numerous projects were implemented. To develop the complex even more, a piece of land at the entrance of Mashhad City was dedicated to the company, where the relevant machinery and equipment were transferred in 1985. Since 1992, this company became famous among food companies for its developmental plans and gained an appropriate status and position among about 1000 similar production units. In the pursue of its development plans and aiming to produce innovative products in the country, the company purchased strudel production lines in 2004 and launched them in 2005. These lines are fully automatic and use modern technology, and the produced strudels and croissants are popular and of great quality.

Currently, "Nan e Razavi" Co. is one of the largest food factories in the field of “cake, cookies, and bread” in Iran with an annual nominal capacity of more than 44,100 tons of diverse and high-quality products (and more than 100 different products) for domestic use and export. Razavi factory units are located at the entrance of the Mashhad-Quchan Road at Ghaem square, and has more than 14 donuts, strudels, and bread production lines, including sponge cake, pastry, cookie, marshmallow, and biscuit lines. The industrial bread and strudel lines are in the strudel unit and donuts in the fully automated donut unit. Finally, bread, wafer, and confectionery lines are in the bread unit. To further develop this company, its geographic expansion is on the agenda.

Since this volume and variety of products should reach customers as soon as possible in an optimal manner and with respect to their qualitative requirements, the company has organized its sales and distribution system based on major representatives in provincial centers, distribution centers in cities, direct supply stores, and capillary distribution. To support end-users even better, there are about 100 kiosks offering direct products. These activities have facilitated the quick and timely access of customers to various products of "Nan e Razavi".

The quality and customer satisfaction have been the most important principles of this company since the Imam Reza Hospital bakery. This fact can be indicated according to different certificates and awards for leading producer in the field of standardization, consumer protection, and from the food and drug administration, etc.

Throughout the years and within the framework of Astan Ghodse Razavi’s ultimate goals, this company has always aimed to meet its social responsibilities and produce healthy products. Investments on domestic production during the years before the revolution and expanding it after the revolution in order to promote domestic production and job creation and its continued presence in Astan Ghodse Razavi ceremonies and honors are among the most important ones. The company still proudly promotes social responsibility by supporting the domestic industry and producing most of its own machinery and equipment by its technical personnel and domestic suppliers.
