Feedback on company logo

Brief from client

I am looking for feedback on a "potential" product name and logo. I could tell you what the product is, however I'd like to know from you what you think the product is. Make sense?

Also, I'd like feedback on the image, colors, font and size.

The logo reflects what the product is and that is wearable pocket flaps for pants, shirts, jackets, etc. Predominately female audience.

Here the short feedback:

1. Clearly, no. I guess it has something to do with pockets but that's about it.
2. No. Again, I think I see a pocket but the image is too low rez and pixelated.
3. No. There are too many of them.
4. No and no. The font itself is super bland, like the default font on Word.
5. No. I have no idea if I'm supposed to read "pockket FLAPz" or "FLAPz pockket".

The longer feedback:

This logo doesn't work at all, unfortunately. To be honest, it's a mess. No clear idea, terrible composition, color and font management, and the composition is all over the place.

Idea: there's no clear idea behind it. It's not clear what type of business it's supposed to represent. There's also no cool visual idea that grabs the attention and makes it memorable. I think the reason for that is that you made it straight on the computer, and not even on the right software (if you used anything else than Illustrator or any vector-based soft, that's your first mistake right there)

What you need to do is restart from scratch, with a proper creative process:

1. Research: learn everything there is to learn about the business you're dealing with, get the lay of the land. Check out what the competition does in terms of brand identity.

2. Inspiration: dive deep into brand identities, logos, websites, etc. to fuel your creativity. Lookup sites like www.dribbble.com, www.logopond.com and check out Pinterest for maximum creativity boost.

3. Learn about typography. I cannot stress this enough. It's a science. It's all about sizes and proportions, white space management, etc. And find some real professional fonts. You can even find some for free. Check out www.losttype.com for example.

4. Sketch. On paper. Turn of that damn computer and sketch like hell. Throw ideas on paper, whatever goes through your mind. This is the most important part of the whole process. With everything you've learned and seen in the first 3 steps, you should be able to conceptualize very organically, with your pen being a conduit between your brain and the physical reality that is a blank piece of paper. And when you think you're done sketching WRONG, sketch again.

5. Execution: only when you have sketched for a few days you can move to the final step, if you a viable idea of course. You will need a vector-based software, like Adobe Illustrator. A logo has to be in vector as opposed to pixel, as you will probably need to have your logo in different sizes. In vector, you blow up your logo to your heart's content without losing in quality and with a relatively very light file.

I hope that helps.

Keep it up.

THANK YOU SO MUCH! I appreciate the detailed feedback.

It's interesting when you are so close to the product that you believe your logo is obvious. The product is a "flap" that you attach to a rear pocket on jeans to make it look like a back pocket flap. You can also attach the flap to a pair of leggings to give the appearance of a back pocket flap.

Without going into too much detail, there are many females (myself included) that do not have the most attractive backside in jeans or leggings. I discovered years ago that my backside actually looks great when I wear jeans with a back pocket flap. It gives the allusion of actually having a butt.

Yes, there are thousands of jeans out there that have back pocket flaps however, the supply of jeans in the length I need (I'm very tall) are few which makes it frustrating when trying to buy new ones. Make sense?

I've been researching and working on this for over a year now, and with my group of friends (some similar to me in size, etc.) I've decided to create a logo for the product and start sewing. So, I've done the research (Google, social media platforms) and there are no products like this.

With all of that said, I wanted to highlight the flap only, however add in a pocket so people know what the flap is. Make sense? You are correct, I want cool and snazzy. I want the logo to convey what this product is.

Yes, I know the font is gross.

So, with the additional info I'm stuck on the visual treatment of this product. Do you have any suggestions?

Thanks for your time and I appreciate your honest feedback.

Attached is revised logo for product named, "beeJACK flaps", along with font and colors. Along with the logo are several tagline ideas.

I'd like to ask for feedback on the logo (image, font, colors), the product name and which of the taglines you like best with the logo and product name. Pick 3-5 favorites.

Thank you very much!

I had to recreate the logo so it differs than the document with the taglines.

Is there anyone who may have time to provide feedback on the logo, product or company name? I also would like you to pick 3-5 of your favorite taglines.

Really would appreciate opinions and feedback.

Thanks
