Conflicting Designs

Brief from client
We have two people who are trying to redesign the company logo, however we cannot decide which option to progress further. One designer wants the logo simple for versatility in application and also brand recall. The other person wants the logo to be 'clever'.
This is the simple version and depicts a waypoint as the business is a logistics business and the icon is to signify pin point accuracy of deliveries. Also the smooth font is meant to represent the fluid service we offer where systems connect simply. This logo can also be reversed to all white also for use on block colours.
