I like it all - colour, presentation, execution and type, but don't dig the pen nib. It doesn't translate the message which you need to convey.. especially in your/our field of work.. in my opinion.

I wouldn't settle for this dude, you need to keep on going and leave this on the cutting room floor.

Thanks Jon Askill.
Although not a pencil, is the illustrator pen tool and quice try using it to give the CG form.

Ok, you think of this form without lines?

Also, you definitely don't need that line between your name and graphic design. ;)

I want all of those things as well! Especially the shirt that guy is wearing. It's really nice.

Okay Cesar! Time to get serious. :D You have seen the wash of logos lately that are initials and 'Graphic Design'. I honestly think you can do way better than that. :) What do the initials tell us really? Not much.

I think you would be better suited just making something for a symbol that represents you. Look at how nice that eagle was! Seriously, its nice and clean, just stop forcing it to be initials! Make yourself something that you really like, a nice and professional Eagle for example.

Sidebar: I don't know why so many designers limit themselves with the name of the company? I personally don't think I would remember anyone with a company name that is just their name...

I can see companies going "Who was that designer again that did our logo? Someone something?"
"Yes sir, I'll find it, oh here one is, Celeste Marie V Designs!"
"Oh yes, that's the one!"

Your name can be anything at all, be creative! People want creative designers. Soaring Eagle Designs? Crazy Wolfhat Charlie Designs? The Vampire Rose & Quarter Design? Number of the Beast Designs? You can be anything! Be creative! Make it tie back to you, not just your name.

I might be completely off track here, still... I'd remember Crazy Wolfhat Charlie Designs before Casar Gaviria Desgins, not offence! :D

One caution to beginning designers regarding Waffles possibly alcohol influenced give your self a wacky name rant (he does have a good point about recognition) and by caution I mean HUGE WARNING AHEAD! No matter what you write on your invoices, or how many time you say "make the check out to me", some one will make a check out to - insert crazy name here - and if you don't have a registered fictitious name and business bank account under - insert crazy name here -, you will not be able to cash that check. Even if they add 'Design' or 'Graphics' after your name you could be screwed at the bank and have to go back and ask them to cut a new check.

True story, happened to a friend of mine, not me, I'm too smart for that, really.

P.S. Cesar, I happen to like this design, colors, fonts, rule the whole thing with the possible exception of making the pen point more unique, which I know is being a little vague but I can't put my finger on why it bugs me just a little. Bottom line if I had a portfolio come across my desk with this logo on the front I wouldn't hesitate to take a look at it.

I don't drink and post. I have more than enough problems going off on crazy tangents without the help of social lubricant. :)

Cesar, main thing is that a pen symbol doesn't work with your C that has soft edges. On top of that I cannot locate G ??? Perhaps, if you let go that pen symbol and make thin line inside C or even thick one and shape that line into G - that would make it cleaner, stronger symbol on its own. I'm against a pen symbol idea - as it has been overdone and overused big time, plus a pen symbol direct my brain to writers first, but you're not a writer, right? Please, sketch some more and I'm sure that you will show to us a cool logo soon. Good luck.

Great work here, only reminds me the off buttom, but the the illustrator pen tool makes C work as a G to me, and the message, to me is, "im a illustrator too" jejeje very nice

I am not clear what I want, this is one of the tests I'm rehearsing for my brand and I'm still looking to find something I like.

Thanks to all =)

This works for me. Great job and choice of colors. Good start to wherever you want to go with the final product.

Maybe try a thinner "C" that kind of balances with the Pen symbol/tool.
