Brief from client
We produce all sorts of Films. Currently we make advertising films but very soon we will move on to making feature films as well. We are young , creative and passionate people. daydreamer pictures has come from the fact that we dreamed of producing our own films and we have achieved that.
I just tried to give the logo a dreamlike quality while still staying fairly simple and film themed. They didn't want an "emblem" type of logo.

Idea is good. I like the dreamy setup. But the execution is way to complex. Too many elements. Too many colors that don't match.
I agree with botw, this is too busy.
I agree with both of you.. but they were going for something more complex. Kind of like DreamWorks.. Not comparing mine to that, which is actually a favorite. But not just a simple icon. I don't feel I pulled it off.. but after messing with it over and over I wanted to see what you guys thought before scrapping it.
How about making it at night? Get rid of the sunbeams, maybe the clouds too. Then it will be simplified, have less colours to clash and the stars coming out of the projector will show up more... Perhaps have the sky as a deep blue/purple background rather than just black though.
