I like this a lot. Although think you could do the type better. It could be much better by applying more conventions to the current arrangement and/or using a different font which still can be basic and minimalist but more interesting..?
Also, this design reminded me instantly or Watership down and saying that, to make the hare look meaner why not add some war wounds to its ears...?
I love the rabbit! What if you move the rabbit down and put the Mad on the left and the Hare on the right? Maybe? The rabbit could be a little smaller yet like the width of the ears to the width of the main text. You made want to make the nose just a little more dominate. When you make it smaller you are going to lose the nose and the separation in the mouth. I love it the way it is but to be able to scale it you are going to have to make a little more space.
I would maybe look for a san serif font the has just a little twist like one rounded corner or a clipped corner or something subtle. Or something portrays the mean or the hare. See below for samples.

I don't get it, what did you change or do differently? I agree it should look meaner, though.
