Converted O to a mailbox. I think these fonts work well together??
Just not sure if it works, is boring, etc. I'm stuck! Help!
Thanks!

Alternate font, same idea...
Rounded the letters and mailbox for a more approachable look.

edit- just noticed some kerning issues in "solutionz"- I'll fix that! =O

I like removing the post at the bottom and do agree there could be more contrast.

Another +1 for removing that post and adding a little bit more contrast!

Another vote for version 2! I'd probably even simplify the mailbox a bit more by removing the lines in front, and simplifying the "flag."

It's a shame that atrocious spelling requirement; it does the logo a disservice. But that's their problem, not yours :)

I had another version i was reluctant to work on as it involves a lightbulb (i know that can be overdone). Here is a sketch, would you lovely folks be willing to tell me if this is a better direction,or if i should continue to tweak the above. Thanks in advance for advice!

Color scheme would change, adding yellow/gold for the bulb. Filament to represent a mailbox. Bulb to represent "solution"

You want to stay away as far as possible of anything light bulb related. It's the most washed up idea in the book.

Keep sketching a few hundred ideas, play with the box, the characters, the negative space, whatever. Look for the unexpected.

Your initial idea isn't bad per sé, but it's just a starting point for me. Push it way further than that.

Keep it up!

At least one of the bulb ideas helped to hide that awkward Z spelling I have to use! But I certainly get what you are saying. Thanks!

That Z is a real bummer alright.

Tell your client it's just cocky, gimmicky and just brings the brand value way down.

Unfortunately i think it was more of a business registration, domain name issue than a stylistic choice- so we are just stuck with it.

You could use the mailbox in a similar fashion to hide the 'z'. It is as much a post as it is a light bulb.. uh... stem... thing?

Oh I see- I think? You mean use it as a post to hold a mailbox (side view)???

Either that or put the original post back in, but use the 'z' instead of the post. There are a lot of ways to do this! :D

Ok guys, I will be the party-crasher here. The whole stuff is boring, the mailbox looks just plain and out of the movie, depsite the fact that is readable and functional, it adds in the best case scenario, an element to hang on.
The text is also boring, no speed, no elegance, doesn't fit with what they want to do, I suggest some calligraphic font, or at least a rounded, elegant one, maybe a slab serif.
The lightbulb suggestion- as my colleagues said, stay away from it, is outdated, overused, washed-up. Unless you have no choice, go with something else (not a box, also).
