Square Contracting

Well, it was a pitch for a contracting company... They had 8 other companies in the same field. They are the whole sole supplier and builders as they have their own steel, cement etc... and the idea behind this logo was...
there is opening of a square from the top left and after the opening of the square, there is a sky (sky has no limit) and this green I was trying to point as an earth also could be grass, so after the opening of this square you have all opportunities etc.. I might not be able to explain you properly but this was the initial idea I was working ....
in edition on this green was trying to show (sail) as boat comes in Arabic Culture and they like very much ....

I always have a problem with squares and in my desire to make some magic stuff i often screw up the work. Not your case, anyway without a brief it's hard to feel the direction of this piece. It looks good and the note of "ascending arrow" it's just fine for me. Also- i like the work with the shadow, very nice work. Of all these 3 versions I would choose this one.
It's ok if you put the light on the green surface right. Light would never fall this way. Play around with it more and it will shine.
Anche per me è ok, l'unico neo, (forse frutto solo di un'illusione ottica), guardando la scritta CONTRACTING pare non sia perfettamente centrata con il resto del logo.

I like the shape and the idea behind but some details could be better. If it's an open square you could use a bit of shade inside which makes it look more 'open'. Also if you use blue as a sky, use the same color in the word 'contracting'. The green in sphere and 'square should match too'. I would prefer another font, less curly. The radius of the sphere and opened sides of the square is too small. That's why its difficult to get the idea behind. It's not real enough.
Francesca tell U about the centralization (with "square" too); Buothz about the "contracting" font, and I agree with bouth. Try the same font but in lowcase.
The "square" font is a perfect choice. It is classical, formal and talk like a serrious person. That's all I expect from a builder.
About colors choice: Try something with more contrast. The blue and green vibrate on same frequency. The square hinself remember me the floor, not sky. U're selling a peace of earth, a standground, a house probably. U're pull the white paper (love this concept) and reveal grass and floor to the customer. Maybe light green and dark brown, or dark green and orange, or dark green and light green. At last dont pull to much the point of the "paper", it is a paper, not elastic. Congrats! By the way I love the version 2.

If i am not mistaken the contracting font is trajan and that font does not have a lowercase version.

I like this idea the most. But i think you have to work better the color, lights/shadows and shape of symbol. Think also on Black and white when working the basic shape of a brand, it results good to me doing that way. If b&w logo works fine, then with all the color and detail work just go better.
PD: just in case i'm uploading a crop of an id card i've made some time ago. I hope it shows what i't talking about! my english is not the best one =D

Tha blue isn't that good for what must be the business. You had a good idea doing all in this logo, but the arrow is ascending backwards.
at first glance, it looks like a flying kite which is symbolic --- as if there is no other way but to go up --- which is very good for the business. the blue color can use a little more texture (it looks a little bit flat). anyway, that is only my opinion. overall it is good.

i agree with all the comments concerning green part (specially if u look at the logo from far it will look like an arrow pointing north west) ..
and for the colors .. green and blue does not give u the desired msg
Liked the concept and great execution. good job!
I feel the finesse is missing and this might be probably due to the lighting and the length and shape of the peel and the font selection for the word contracting. slight work on this would make it much much better.
I like the colors but feel the lighting might need some re-work.
I personally feel the direction of the square could be flipped so that it points towards Northeast which is more positive.
I like the idea but it is missing a reference to buildings which is their main business...The colours are also a bit corporate but maybe that's ok.
the idea, the symbol ant the typography it`s good, maybe the "contracting" must be in the same color like the "square"
