The colour more or less has to stay the same or there a bouts because its a logo redesign not a kit design. I quite like the simplicity of this logo it comes across very professional. I do agree with the comment above, are the stars really needed in this piece if not place something else there that would complement the whole design or leave it out.
i google the old logo...better that way...now we can critique....i think your logo looks decent, a more modern version of the current one. The stars, well, as a avid football (soccer) supporter/coach/explayer we understand that the 2 stars represent trophies won. In this case is possible this team has won 2 local cups or league or even european championship so i dont have a problem with that cuz it has meaning....now, if they dont have meaning then i will suggest to take them off ...other than that..clean simple and attractive..good job

Whats up with the stars? Do you need them. The yellow throws the whole thing off for me.

Without seeing the original logo it is hard to give a good critique.
But as it is- get rid of the stars and leave it one color.

With that crucial clue in place-
I think it works- if the stars do have meaning.
You will need to add the banner/text. Done as above should work.
I would match the colors of the old one just to keep it cohesive.
Stars mean championships won in the history of the club. So I guess there's nothing wrong about that.
But why the change of colors? Where did "VALLETTA F.C." go? where's the crown? why now the castle bricks?
I don't think you managed to modernize that logo successfully. It just feels unfinished. Try to re-think this and come up with an improved version.
It worked better in the original version.
