Al Ittihad (Arabic Calligraphy Style)

Brief from client
Al Ittihad is an Arabic language Word which means "Union".
I like your idea to transfer an Arabic script into a geometric design. It is not an easy task by any stretch of imagination and you did a superb job. I like a central negative space that you created out of elements around. Now you need to take this to e next level. Somehow, I would like you to blend that into a mosaic/ stainless glass design with beautiful colors ( like a peacock feathers ). At a first glance at your design was as looking up at a ceiling of a mosque, if you know what I mean. Perhaps, find a way to include curvy, soft lines, too - especially around borders.I sense a lot of potential with this one and will wait for your final version.Good job!
I like it. Truth be told, for us "westerners" this is a hard one.
However, a little more insight about the logo would be helpful for us so we can provide better founded comments.
As CErnestoRamirez said, it resembles a QR code. If that's the intent, you nailed it. If not, maybe try what BOPOTA said about incorporating curves.
The execution is superb. However, I feel it's a little over-detailed... but I don't know if there is an intent of Arabic in the paths.
Have you done the 100px test?
If not, reduce it to 100px wide and see if the detail remains, if things get lost that are not intended to do so then maybe removing them altogether could be an option.
A good one. I like what you did in the centre. The only thing is, it is not reading as Al Ittihad, because of the extra part that comes after (Taa) and the way you have placed the dots, it makes it read as Al Innihad. To fix this you only have to remove the extra part (that is under the second dot).
From another view, Kufi calligraphy works better as a graphic elements rather than a logo on it is own. Maybe as suggested above, try adding some colours and maybe a tagline to see how it works then.
I would like to see the final logo out of this one.
Although i think you did a great job designing this logo, from a commercial point of view i don't like it. I think it is too complicated to fit a regular taxi. Dubai is an international city visited by people all over the world. Most non Arabic people won't understand the meaning of the logo. So the owner of this taxi company misses quite a few customers. I think a taxi should carry an international logo together with the word TAXI. It must be readable and understandable to anyone. I'm sorry to be critical but maybe it can help you to be even more succesful.

I don't know about arabic calligraphy, but your design look like a QR Code... i think that you can do more light and combine with another color
Perfect.
And for the above comment: it's QR codes which look like calligraphy, not the other way around =) Or maybe he did it on purpose.
Anyway, great stuff.
