American Advertising Awards Logo

So I'm in the beginning phases of designing a logo for American Advertising Awards. I'm not sure the direction I want to go in, and I'm wondering if 3D would be cool, kind of like the 21st Century Fox Logo type of thing. The above logo IS JUST A THROWN TOGETHER P.O.J. but just to get an idea of something I could work with.

I wouldn't go down the 20th Century Fox art deco road, it's too well known as their brand. Also "AAA" and "AA" already stand for multiple things. What does their actual award look like, does it have a symbol?

The award is called an ADDY. The whole thing used to be called Addy's but they changed it to American Advertising Awards.

Yeah. The AdFed or American Advertising Federation. I have a few of those from the local circuit. I just went to a meeting Tuesday. Didn't know they were changing the name.

Yep I'm not sure why they want to, they're keeping the award name as Addy's but they are changing the name of the program.
