I like the A and M here, but I wish the S matched the style more.

I would lose that gradient, however, and go with either a two color palate or use negative space to separate the shapes.

The font below is very plain.

Good improvements. Good luck moving forward!

wasn't sure how to make it more in the style without it looking like a backwards z...
thanks for feedback. as for the font below, what's wrong with plain? doesn't that make the logo mark stand out more?

I don't believe so. It will stand out just fine on its own. Keep the entire package in mind here. There will be times where you'll just need the text to spell out the entire brand name, so it should stand on its own in some instances.

is this S better?

I think so but for me your A needs to be wider so it matches in with the size of the M & S better. I would do more of the traditional A shape rather than how you have it now. The sub text is better as its bolder but the font is still Myriad.. Which is the illustrator default and is not very attractive.. I avoid it at all costs.

Quick tip for you.. on your gradients turn the transparency to Multiply, they will look a lot nicer. At the moment they look like a bit of grey dust or dirt.

A few changes and you can get this looking good but I still don't think there's a clear idea behind it.

thanks for the tips. I do like the slanted A though, because it looks more like something "built" together, much like a modular home, which is what this business does, and also why I chose to do the letters as something "constructed". Nevertheless, good feedback, I will experiement with the A
