Brief from client
Apricity means the warmth of the sun during winter.
It's a nice feeling during the winter so that's why I used a sort of smile in the A. Enjoying the moment.
I like that word, fun topic for your own practice. Overall I like it. A few things I would change:
Raise the symbol up some. Right now it's so close to the letters that it feels a bit crushed. Give some breathing room.
I like the icon itself, but I don't like the overlapping triangle at the top. A little detail that is lost in small scale and just is so subtle that it really doesn't add much. To go along with that I'd get rid of the gradient over all of it and just stick with a warm yellow instead of adding in dark shading with it. Overall though I really like it.
Besides a general idea - nothing else is to my likening, sorry. Agree with Katelin on a gradient issue and a symbol that overpowers a text. On a symbol, I'm not sold on your attempt with a smile, as it is not developed, as of yet... With cut outs on " A " I see a piece of pie in a center being held with architectural compass. Would you consider more options for a symbol to achieve your goal ? I would try a different font, too. Would like to see more color variations.
