Research think tank named after Greek goddess of the hunt. They want to directly reference their namesake and communicate a sense of agility and precision.

Don't get frustrated by these 3 red thumbs, because this logo has some really potential and your mind was definitely on the right track.
I see 3 main problems:
First off, the symbol. It looks really cool, but it is way too thin in some areas (mainly the arrow and the string) and with that bright greenish tint, it gets lost on that white background. Especially at small size (ie the thumbnail) You need to thicken it in the right places.
Second, the font isn't really working for me. Or rather, it would probably look better if it wasn't in italic. As it is now, it kind goes against the flow set by the symbol.
Finally, that hashed I isn't necessary. It doesn't say anything relevant. Maybe your intention was a reminder of the bow handle, but the two doesn't even look similar. And too complicate things ever more, there's two colors in there. Keep things simple and get rid of it altogether.
Besides that, it's a pretty good job so far, but it can be even better if you take these few pointers into consideration.
