BALKAN HIKING ADVENTURE
Brief from client
BALKAN HIKING ADVENTURE is a new formed association which organize and lead hiking trail excursions in the mentioned area. The clients didn't have any recommendation or idea directions before their brand logo order.
The logo application contains 3 basic elements:
1. The BRAND Title “BALKAN HIKING ADVENTURE”
2. The “REPRESENTATION” – the Icon Mark – Two horizon paths which forms Balkan look alike mountains in the half circle area. Actually and technically a cut into the mentioned half circle area forms a negative space which represents one mountain and the part of the safe space represent the second one. In the same point of view the rest of the half circle safe space forms a rising sun or a sunset in the infinity.
3. The Square Background in orange as a color which initiate sense of: adventure, risk-taking, enthusiasm, vibrant, flamboyant, warm, sociable, optimistic, enthusiastic, cheerful...

Well, this project didn't really start off too well. The first step to a good logo is most and foremost a good brief from the client. If yours doesn't really know what he wants, make him work a little bit by asking him a few question. His answers should help you steer in the right direction. It's really important to a have solid brief from your client, or you can easily get lost pretty quickly.
The logo you came up with is very bland; to be honest. The basic idea, while not really grand-breaking for this type of business, is sound, but the end result is really exciting. Basically, it looks like you didn't spend too much time working on this and that you didn't follow a proper creative process, that usually consists in research, inspiration, sketching and execution. I cannot stress enough that the most important part is sketching, with pen and paper.
