Beer Cave

Brief from client
Create a Logo for a walk-in Beer Cooler with a bold eye catching look
I wanted to make it one color so they can use it on multiple applications, including as a sticker on the window which was their original idea.
They symbol is awesome!! I love the negative space in the head of the bear. My one gripe is with the font. I think it works but there could be a better option. You might even be able to get away with two fonts, one per word here.
I wonder if that font would work better if it had slightly rounded edges- I like the geometric look of the letters, but rounding them off a bit might compliment the bear???
Thank you all for your feedback! I really like the font you suggested but I had already found one I really like that is eerily similar to the one you suggested.
I think I'm the only one that didn't see the bottle opener in the head.
In any case - This is looking good, now that I look with "fresh eyes"
only thing I would do is simply tighten up the kerning a bit in that classic AV snag that always comes up!
Hey Mate,
The bear is really cool looking, yet I'm not totally sure about leaving the head open, perhaps you might even try if you are going to use that negative space forming it in the shape of a beer bottle, mug, glass, boot, old style container, or even a stein.
Lastly, the font is too "Swiss Road Sign" or "helveticaesque" this assignment definitely calls for some play with the type.
And how might you represent the cave? not to be a nitpicker, but bears hibernate in caves and aren't seen, again, just throwing you more problems than you need.
Good luck,
look forward to a new version.
Nahhhh I have to disagree. The simplicity is what makes this great. Adding caves and beer mugs and bottles and and and is gimmicky. It is a logo, not an illustration- you don't have to "illustrate" the bear and the beer and the cold and the bottle and the cave....... that would be terrible design

The bear is pretty awesome!
Its ridiculously cool how the head of the bear kind of resembles a bottle opener.
I agree with the above comments. There is a free font called Sonder that I think would be perfect for this

Let me know what you think!
See, our advice comes in handy sometimes.
It is eerily similar. Maybe not as distressed and campy, but it definitely fits the bill.
I think you have a winner here.
Also I had a typo in my original comment, I meant Sonder, not somber.

I would like to do that distressed look but since they want decals made, that would unfortunately not work.
Thank you for the advice!
Is the font you're currently using called Intro?
It's called amsi pro. It is one of my favorite fonts and looks good almost no matter what the application is.

That's not at all what I was suggesting. I don't think he needs to add little illustrations and spell out every word of the title then have images.
I totally did not get the "bottle opener head." At all. It just looks open. Which on second glance if it is a bottle opener, well hey nice job.
I believe - but I'll have to read back now - the reason I brought up the cave to "possibly" use as an element to play off light and dark.
Edit-
Well - no I did not fully elaborate.
I'm also going to reiterate is that the first thing I saw in the bear's head was a beer bottle opener.
I'm late on this one.
I think the bottle opener thing is a bit far-fetched. But that could be a good idea.
I'm not a fan of the symbol as it is. The negative space isn't very well handled, especially with the arms.
The big bear could look better if a bit more time was spent on it.
One thing I thought when I first saw it that it resembles a bottle. That could be another direction.
Anyhoo, there is definitely some potential with this logo but it's not done yet.
Keep it up!
