Brief from client
Logo for a travel writer.

Have any other thumbs to we up to you?
JUST F. AWESOME!
I really love to participe of this site, cause great designers like you and Shawali, get some time to answer our questions and help in our progress.
Thanks and congrats!
Just wish I had a bit more free time to participate back and join in on the conversations. I usually read, but really havnt had any free time in months!
Its currently under development, as I've not had a portfolio in many years. - But you can keep track of what im up to on - http://yeoldestudio.co.uk/
I also work through PeoplePerHour - http://pph.me/joe
It can be a good place to meet new clients and find new work, but make sure you never under sell yourself, or oversell your abilitys. Keeping people happy will make you happy and your abilitys happy.
I see it all as a game, Each logo is a new level and everday is more exp points. :)
So cool man!
I'm new in "logo world", but I have a little experience in layouts, diagramation and prints. Every time a fall in love in more to create it, unfortunately the designers are not so valued in my region. Every day my dream of have my own agency grows even more, and yhe jobs I've seen here is giving me the inspiration to continue.
Make sure you do it for your passion and not for a pay check. It gives me even more joy to help company's with a good logo and its always good practice. But make sure you enjoy it, as long as that's true then you'll go far.
Haha, Haters gonna hate. I'll agree that this particular design was quite fancy and less iconic for how logo's should be. But I personally feel as if there is a big change happening, With more company's becoming smaller groups of people leading there own business, Logo's may move towards how they used to be.
More secondary names and simple icons to represent there business. Rather than a subtle clean and unique typeface.
It's awesome when it moves. However, in the print version the colors kinda fall flat. I would make the compass look more like an actual compass, less design lines. It took a couple seconds for me to figure out it was a compass in the print version.

Lol
Thanks for the appreciation, buddy! But I'm nowhere near Joe Fuckin' White. He's a natural, he lays great logos like a hen on steroïds.
As for me, creating a good logo is a long and painful process, full of doubt and frustration.
But anyhoo, I'm glad to help cool young guys like you. I've been doing so since I started in the business 8 years ago.
The colors were chosen very well. The rest does not tell me anything.
Wait, it's a logo for a traveling writer, it has a pencil and a compass. How on Earth doesn't it tell you anything?!!
are you blind?
