Boomerang

Brief from client
It is a logo for a text messaging app which sends out a message and users can answer anonymously.
Which logo do you think works the best out of the two. I know they both need work but please just choose top or bottom.
I like the top one, it makes a boomerang float. Now, how about add an " e " to make " boomerange "? Also, have you tried to make a drop shadow out of your boomerang on a slanted angle from a top version - that way it naturally creates upper case " B "? And I'm sure someone will mention to you: " one logo per entry, please".
Thanks for the info. Ill play around with it. We thought about the name change but haven't talked to the client about it. Im pretty sure he will say that it emphasizes distance instead of something that returns to you.
Well, isn't that a fact that a boomerang needs a distance first in order to return? You know what is really cool about boomerang - is if I would do a logo of Australia, I would simply put boomerang on his two bottom points, as by itself it is kinda reminiscent a silhouette of a continent itself, isn't he?
I think the name fits the overall concept of the ap. You send something out, other people return them.
Of those two presented, the top is the one I think looks better. I can see it being more of the ap icon than the other version. I think it needs a bit of refining though, try playing with it a tad.
I do like the typography. The custom 'M' is interesting without being illegible. So good job on that.
I think overall it is a bit muted. Boomerangs to me are more lively, I don't think the blue matches the feel of everything else.
For sure that " m " was hit by a boomerang that didn't return, :) Like what Waffles mentioned about lively colors for a boomerang and would like to add that if you could consider place some Aborigine decor or elements of their tattoos on a boomerang to tied up with what Waffles said.
This is what I thought of with this logo, mostly due to the colors and the B inside the boomerang itself, on the side.
Is it just me, or would this justify a rework? I'm kind of fifty fifty on it. Granted, it does have its unique properties, but think it's a bit confusing.
Sorry to be the party-pooper, but I really don't like this logo. The way you use the boomerang is simplistic compared with what you could potentially do with it and it gets in the ways of a clear legibility. The tricked up font doesn't help either and doesn't really bring anything to the plate.
If you wonder why your post has been edited and one of the logos removed, it's because it's the site policy to have only one logo per post, as it's typed in bright red on the uploading page. You can still post another iteration of your logo in the comment section though.
The symbol is okay but it seems like you are trying to hard to have loops in the text that symbolize the movement of a boomerang. I think the simple unaltered text with the boomerang next to it is enough. And try a new color scheme, one that is unique.

There are two kinds of boomerangs. One type returns, one type does not.
The ones that return are mostly used for recreation.
The ones that don't are mostly used to hit things with.
Fun Logo fact of the day!
Thanks Waffles, very good point! But both types need to cover a distance, no matter what, right?
Well I imagine standing there using a boomerang like a club to hit your foes would defeat the benefits of using one. A good mental image though.
Waffles, this pair was made for guys who are stucked with mean wives....
Good logo, i would go with the second one if i would choose. Thanks for the boomerang fact :D
Why would you choose the second one?
it looks tighter , thats my impression. the boomerang is more aligned with the text.

Brilliant use of the "r" and the colors are also great! I would like to possibly see in an orange too.

In which way do you think it is confusing?
Just brand identity. It could be mistaken for a refresh of a different logo.
I like its armed is creative, the one gives the feeling of sending
Sorry. I don't understand what you mean. Is there a button for "mark as confusing"? (Just a joke)
KillSwitch is confusing how good your concept is.
Way to erroneously put words in my mouth.
I agree, Charlie is measuring every word that we type now...
Um. What?

ok so the symbol isn't bad but the font has problems
