Brief from client
I was asked to design a logo for a Youth hockey team. The only direction I was given is "We want it in black and white, we want chains, and we want it to have a grungy font". So, I worked with what I had. What do you think?

Well it's not that it's a bad logo per sé, though there's quiet a lot of room for improvement, it's propable way off the mark.
What I mean is that for a youth hockey team, this logo looks way too gloomy and dark. Also, since the name is Bulldog, I'd expect to see a bulldog somewhere, rather than chains which I don't really see what their purpose is.

It may just be me and it may be because it is Monday morning, but when I saw the thumbnail version of this, I saw lacy underwear. Not exactly the image one wants for a youth hockey league.
Thank you, definitely all good input. I actually asked them if they wanted some kind of bulldog mascot, kind of like how the San Jose sharks have a shark biting through a hockey stick to give an example, to which the client said no. I'll try to re-work some of the chains, and maybe the overall shape. Definitely don't want people thinking it's women's underwear. :P
Question: Does it need to say 'Hockey'? I'm not sure what Youth League hockey regulations are for logos.
If it is required: Maybe play with two fonts? Bulldogs being the grunge/rough & hockey being a plain font nothing crazy.
