Brief from client
This logo has potential, please work on it more
This logo is for stocklogo but the admin reject it and told me that this logo has potential and work on it more.
In general, the idea is good, I just think that it does need a bit more work.
The awning and the camera feel a bit disconnected. Granted, each individual graphic looks good. It's just that you put them together and somehow they don't feel connected.
The shutter, I would change the blue "panels" and make them a desaturated red maybe. I think that the blue makes them fade in with the rest of the camera so you end up noticing only the red panels.
I first thought the camera was a credit card, especially since you're using flat colors.
There is depth in the awning but no depth in the camera, try exploring that part.
The typography has no impact. Granted, I can see the contrast between the heavy graphics vs. the thinner typeface, and that's good. Maybe is the typeface itself, it has a 'Comic Sans' feel to it, or Papyrus-ish feel as well.
With a bit more exploration you can get this logo on the right spot.
