This basically works.
I would check kerning & spacing in "GONZALES", it can be improved.
You can further simplify graphic mark too, as G said - remove drop shadow.
Also, you can keep outline but change 3 gradients to 3 solid colors.
It will still look like wood but will be easier to reproduce in print.
i like the symbol, but not all the color shades and drop shadow..i think it would look better just white on a nice solid color without an outline.. the type treatment needs work..in short: simplify!

I would work on the placement of your top font "Carpinteria" maybe keep it flush right. Other than that I like it.
Definitely follow advice above.
I would either change the font of the lower "g" or manipulate it so that the tail has the same width as the upper "C".
I don't think you need the outline on the wood square or the drop shadow on the "Cg".
