Love the hat. not sure with the moustache. hat alone is already chef and the moustache confuse the pencil

An improvement for sure.

About that pen, though, I guess it has to do with the school side of things. But for me, it doesn't really portray that idea. As far as logos are concerned it would work best for a designer logo or something having to do with drawing.

It's a bit puzzling and distracting is what I'm trying to say.

Why not incorporate a book? It could tie in the school idea with cookbooks or something of that nature.

The font is MUCH better.

This could be cheesy, but may not hurt to try- if you did loose the pencil and go with a book you could place it just in front of the chef hat, open, implying that the chef is "studying" ?? Does that make sense?
