Much better, of course, without that pencil/mustache thing. Give book a binder in a center, make that look more book and less menu. Good job!

There's not enough contrast between your colors. Colorblind people have a very hard time distinguishing red from green, especially with similar brightness values.

I like the change on the symbol! However, the shades of red and green you have are pretty much dead-on Christmas colors! Not a fan! That shade of blue shadow on the hat is a nice shade with the red, could you bring that color into the book portion of the symbol?
Much improvement- just work on the colors!=)
