Brief from client
Must include a Shelby Cobra and uses blues
I did this about a year ago but the client ended up going for a different version that i didnt like.
I just wanted to know what people thought of it as im thinking about using it in my portfolio, any suggestions on how it can be improved will be greatly appreciated. Cheers

I like the vintage feel to this, but think the typography lets it down a bit.
American Typewriter is a nice font, but something bolder and more old fashioned would be better.
The 'motorworks' at the bottom could be a problem when it's small, so I would make it a bit bigger, but this is a minor thing as it's for your portfolio.
The illustration can have a few lines taken out.
Finally, I would experiment with a something like a victorian style to the roundel and banner. At the moment, it looks fairly generic and think a old fashioned look will give this logo lots pf personality.
Here's a bad example of what I'm talking about, but search for vintage car badges etc....
Thank you for the helpful feedback! I think your right about the font choice etc. when I first did this logo I only had 3 hours to come up with something to show the client which probably shows I'm the end result. When I have time I'll work on the suggestions you made and upload a new version

Try a different font and I don't feel the stars are doing much for it..
Also I love the dark blue but not 100% sold on the light blue at the front.. On saying that they do look quite nice together.. Goodluck
I don't like the combination of the two blue tones. A dark red combined with a dark blue would be my suggestion. And the letters CLASSIC are bent, but the letters MOTORWORKS aren't, although the words are so close together. And –as already mentioned above– the fonts used should be more classic to suit the issue.
